Songs for the Liturgy
One of the wonderful blessings of the liturgy is how it uses a regular set of songs each week to proclaim what God has done to save his people. Here, these ancient songs are paired with new melodies to offer variety for the regular use of these songs. "O Christ, Lamb of God" recalls John the Baptist's words as he pointed to the Savior: "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" (John 1:29). "Holy, Holy, Holy" urges us to praise our holy and triune God."Song of Simeon" highlights Simeon's beautiful song of praise when held the Savior of all people in his arms (Luke 2:29-32). "Create in Me" is a beautiful prayer written by King David (Psalm 51).
These alternate settings are geared for congregational singing, and provide a wonderful resource for variety within a liturgical structure. The download includes 4 songs:
- O Christ, Lamb of God (Agnus Dei)
- Holy, Holy, Holy (Sanctus)
- Song of Simeon (Nunc Dimittis)
- Create in Me
